Dazzling autumn

Img_7393

Yellow and blue are complimentry colours. "What a brilliant yellow you are." "Why thank you blue, you are stunning yourself." Autumn this year is blessed with bright sun, blue skies and striking colours in the trees late into October. A large white butterfly was sharing our enjoyment of the sun today. Last week I saw Red Admirals basking and flying around the tops of oak trees. These late fliers will hibernate over the winter in some sheltered spot like a garden shed or basement and will be up to lay eggs in the spring. Local folklore says if it is a late autumn the winter will be sudden and harsh.
