Nine vintage Dacias lined up in the centre of Cluj next to the Sfantul Mihail gothic cathedral ready to prove Romanian staying power. In five days they will be in Holland. Well that’s the plan of the Sleutel13Rally from Cluj to Holland. It's in aid of fun and a charity, Kinder-Rijk that aims to help young Romanians. Each car is driven by a team who have each collected €5,000 to buy their car, pay for the trip and help the charity. The party also includes a couple of mechanics. The 1,800 km journey in Holland passes through Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany.  Once in Holland the teams have the option of buying their route tested cars. The resale value there is particularly low. Kinder-Rijk is based in the north eastern Romanian town of Iasi. The Mayor of Cluj was undeterred by rain as he hosted today’s grand start which was also attended by the Dutch representative. Follow the progress on fb http://www.facebook.com/Sleutel13Rally.org
